The Pandemic Fund has officially opened its second Call for Proposals (CfP), aiming to mobilize innovative projects and initiatives that strengthen global health resilience. This funding initiative, totaling US$ 500 million, seeks to support projects in Eligible Countries, Regional Entities, and Implementing Entities focused on critical areas of pandemic preparedness.

- Late February 2024: Application portal opens, along with technical evaluation criteria and scoring methodology details.
- May 17, 2024: Deadline to submit proposals through the Pandemic Fund’s application portal.
- June – August 2024: Technical Advisory Panel reviews eligible proposals.
- September – October 2024: Governing Board reviews eligible proposals, with the announcement of selected proposals to be funded.
Priority Areas of Funding: The Pandemic Fund will prioritize high-impact investments in three key areas:
- Early warning and disease surveillance systems
- Laboratory systems (human and animal)
- Strengthening human resources/public health and community workforce capacity
