Empowering Women with Disabilities: Introducing the Disability Justice Fund

About the Fund
The Disability Justice Fund for Women supports local organizations in Ghana, Tanzania, and Uganda. Designed by women disability activists, it aims to advance the African Disability Protocol (ADP) and strengthen movements of women with disabilities.

The African Disability Protocol
The ADP is a human rights treaty addressing discrimination faced by people with disabilities in Africa. It tackles harmful practices and promotes a social and human rights approach to disability.

Who Can Apply?
The fund is for organizations led by women with disabilities in Ghana, Tanzania, and Uganda. Target groups include marginalized women with disabilities, women in rural areas, young women (12-35 years), less educated women, grassroots organizations, and older women (above 65). Proposals should focus on areas like organizational development, ADP advocacy, skill-building, mobilization, collaboration, and promoting accessibility.
