Context
UNICEF’s work to support the needs of young people has gained momentum, especially through the initiative Generation Unlimited (GenU), which focuses on expanding opportunities for young people aged 10 to 24. In India, GenU is known as YuWaah, fostering partnerships to unleash the potential of adolescents and young people.
Role of the Communications, Marketing and Advocacy Team
The YuWaah Communications, Marketing, and Advocacy team supports advocacy and policy dialogue, strengthening relationships with public-private-youth-media stakeholders. The team’s innovative approach enhances the impact of YuWaah’s interventions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage the YuWaah Digital Communications Strategy.
- Support content development for digital media channels, website, and mailing list.
- Provide digital support across teams, including hosting digital sessions and managing live streams.
- Execute the PR strategy, coordinate with journalists, and develop media assets.
- Organize convenings and other related tasks as assigned.
Expected Outputs
- Build a solid social media presence for YuWaah.
- Prepare media collaterals and social media creatives.
- Support monitoring progress and preparing monthly reports.
Eligibility Criteria
- Age: 18 – 26
- Nationality: Must be a national or legal resident of India
- Required Experience: 2 years in marketing and/or communications
- Languages: Fluent in English (required) and Hindi (desirable)
Living Conditions and Remarks
New Delhi offers a dynamic environment with cultural richness, modern amenities, and diverse housing options. The city has international schools, medical facilities, and recreational opportunities. However, be mindful of air quality and traffic congestion. National UN Volunteers are responsible for their housing and living essentials.

- Monthly Voluntary Living Allowance (VLA): INR 46,676.91
- Entry lump sum: USD 400 (equivalent in INR)
- Travel ticket (if moving to duty station): USD 200 (equivalent in INR)
- Exit allowance: INR 4,862.22 per month served
