GENE is excited to announce the 5th round of the Global Education Youth Award, celebrating quality initiatives within the framework of the European Declaration on Global Education to 2050. This year’s award shines a spotlight on youth-led initiatives that encourage young people to critically reflect on their world, foster global awareness, and inspire action towards social and climate justice, peace, solidarity, equity, equality, sustainability, and international understanding.
The award recognizes and values youth-led Global Education initiatives that:
- Enable young people to critically engage with global and local issues.
- Promote transformative learning experiences.
- Encourage innovative, action-oriented approaches to positive change through youth leadership and engagement.
Eligible initiatives should:
- Focus on Global Education themes as defined in the European Declaration on Global Education to 2050 (e.g., global-local challenges, solidarity, sustainability, human rights, global citizenship, social justice through education).
- Be non-formal education initiatives led by and for young people.
- Demonstrate innovative approaches and tangible impacts on their communities.
Tell Your Story: Applicants are encouraged to share how their initiative contributes to transformative learning and changes perceptions among their audiences. Highlight what makes your approach unique and innovative.
