The CEE Program is a dynamic global network of innovators addressing critical 21st-century issues. It equips dedicated visionaries with the expertise, skills, and resources to develop multisector approaches and build healthy and engaged communities in over 100 countries.

Program Highlights:

• Three-month Practicum in the United States: CEE fellows are matched with civil society organizations for a hands-on professional practicum.
• Leadership and Civic Engagement Academy: Fellows explore themes through interactive curriculum including service learning, face-to-face trainings, mentorship, and professional coaching.
• Community Engagement Project (CEP): Fellows design and implement a community engagement project with support from U.S. host organizations and mentors.
• CEP Exchange: Select U.S. hosts and CEE specialists travel to a CEE alumnus’ country to support project implementation.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Age 21-27
• Citizen of an eligible country
• Currently living and working in their home country (or have refugee status)
• Minimum of two years’ professional or volunteer experience in community or civil society issues
• Commitment to return to home country after program completion
• Proficient in spoken and written English

Financial Support:

The program covers most expenses, including J-1 visa support, round-trip travel, monthly allowance, and health benefits.

• East Asia and the Pacific: Brunei, Burma, Cambodia, Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Republic of the Marshall Islands, Singapore, Solomon Islands, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Vanuatu, and Vietnam
• Europe and Eurasia: Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Georgia, Hungary, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Türkiye, and Ukraine
• Middle East and North Africa: Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Syria, Tunisia, and Palestinian Territories
