CIC Youth Policy-Makers Hub Application 2024
OCIC’s Youth Policy-Makers Hub (YPH) is a dynamic space for youth across Ontario to engage meaningfully, build capacity, and impact policy-making and advocacy efforts towards achieving gender equality and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Eligibility Criteria:
- Residency and Age: Living in Ontario and between the ages of 18-35 (by August 1, 2024)?
- Passion: Passionate about gender equality, social, and environmental justice issues?
- Commitment: Keen on utilizing your experience and ideas and deepening your capacity to contribute to advocacy and policy processes at sub-national, national, and international levels?

What to Expect as a YPH Member:
- Program Duration: August 2024 to May 2025
- Engagement: Monthly virtual engagements, a virtual ‘Policy Matters’ learning series, an in-person two-day retreat in Toronto, peer-to-peer knowledge exchange, and more.
- Focus Areas: Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action (BPfA), SDGs, Canada’s Feminist International Assistance Policy (FIAP), and various global themes such as climate crisis, environmental sustainability, and artificial intelligence.
Member Expectations:
- Minimum of 2-5 hours per week commitment
- Participation in monthly virtual engagements, a virtual learning series, in-person retreat, and more.
Application Process:
- Priority for youth from historically marginalized communities and those residing outside the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
- OCIC encourages applications from individuals representing the full diversity of communities in Canada.
- Deadline: Friday, July 19, 2024, at 12:00 noon EST.
