As a growing global alliance of over 15,000 members in 188 countries, we work together to monitor violations of basic civic freedoms, call out the perpetrators of violations, and strengthen the power of people to organize by supporting a more accountable, effective, and innovative civil society. We strive to promote excluded voices, especially from the Global South.

About the Role

The role aims to support the strengthening of the CIVICUS Monitor’s global research collaboration, particularly the implementation of the Monitor’s civic space incident tool. This analysis tool records the details of each civic space incident published on the Monitor, providing comprehensive data analysis ahead of our report “People Power Under Attack.”

Key Requirements

  • Pursuing or completed bachelor’s degree in international relations, political science, or a related field.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Knowledge or experience conducting research on human rights.
  • An understanding of international human rights frameworks related to fundamental freedoms of association, peaceful assembly, and expression.
  • Proficiency in any UN language is desirable.
