This initiative seeks to honor outstanding contributions towards achieving a world free of chemical weapons.
Established in 2014, following the OPCW’s receipt of the 2013 Nobel Peace Prize for its efforts in chemical weapons elimination, the OPCW-The Hague Award recognizes individuals and organizations from diverse sectors such as academia, research, chemical industry, and civil society. These contributions are pivotal in advancing the goals of the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC), focusing on areas such as preventing chemical weapons re-emergence, promoting peaceful uses of chemistry, and supporting victims of chemical weapons.

Recognition and Ceremony:
An award ceremony will be held during the OPCW’s annual Conference of the States Parties, scheduled for November 25-29, 2024, in The Hague. This event not only acknowledges outstanding achievements but also underscores the collective global effort towards eliminating chemical weapons and promoting chemical safety worldwide.
