Are you a student from a developing country dreaming of pursuing higher education? The Wells Mountain Initiative (WMI) presents the WMI Scholars Program 2024, offering transformative scholarships for eligible candidates.
Who We’re Seeking:
- Male or female students from developing countries.
- Completed secondary education with good to excellent grades.
- Age 35 or under on March 1, 2024.
- Pursuing their first bachelor’s degree or diploma.
- Enrolling in a program benefiting the community and contributing to their home country’s growth.
- Committed to living and working in their home country post-graduation.
- Demonstrated dedication to giving back through volunteering.
- Possesses some funds for education but requires financial assistance for tertiary degrees.
Application Timeline:
- Submit applications by March 1 each year for consideration in the following academic year.
- Selected WMI Scholars will be notified via email on August 1, with names published on the WMI website and Facebook page.
- Family members of WMI Staff and WMI Scholars are not eligible to apply.
Application Tips:
- Record service activities with dates, activities, time spent, and photographs.
- Collect secondary school transcript, national exam results, and grading keys.
- Request two recommendation letters on official stationery.
- Have all documents translated into English.
Key Dates:
- December 1, 2023: The 2024 WMI Scholars Program application opens on the website.
- March 1, 2024: Application deadline.
Important Note: Scholars planning to study in the United States, Canada, Australia, UK, or Western Europe do not qualify for a WMI Scholarship.
How to Apply:
- Choose from two application methods: Online or Mail-In.
- Online: Create a free account, fill in information, and upload documents Apply Here.
- Mail-In: Print the 2024 application form, complete it, attach required documents, and send it to the WMI office.
Requirements for a Complete Application:
- Clear personal photo.
- Essay on the stated topic in the application form.
- 2024 application form.
- Personal essay statement.
- Two recommendation letters.
- Official transcripts and grading keys from secondary and tertiary studies.
- Official national exam results and grading keys.

- Approximately 5% of applicants are selected each year due to limited funding.
