Scholarship Benefits: The Columbia University Scholarship for Displaced Students at Columbia Global offers full tuition coverage and support for non-tuition expenses. This assistance lasts for the entire duration required to complete the degree. Recipients must be full-time, in-person students.

Eligibility: This scholarship is for foreign nationals who meet any of the following criteria:

• Refugee status (worldwide)
• Received asylum in the United States or submitted a U.S. asylum application
• In the U.S. under Temporary Protected Status
• Internally displaced person
• Afghan national in the U.S. on humanitarian parole or with a special immigrant visa
• Ukrainian national in the U.S. on parole

Note: U.S. citizens and permanent residents are not eligible.

2. Submit the Scholarship for Displaced Students application via the Submittable Platform.

Frequently Asked Questions (“FAQs”)

1. Types of Eligible Displaced Persons: Foreign nationals eligible for this scholarship include those with refugee status, asylum in the U.S., Temporary Protected Status, internal displacement, Afghan nationals on parole, or Ukrainian nationals on parole. U.S. citizens and permanent residents are not eligible.

Documentation supporting eligible status must be submitted.

2. Eligible Schools and Programs: Refer to the “Participating Schools” section for a list of eligible schools and programs. Deadlines vary, so contact the respective school’s admissions office for information.

3. Deadline for Scholarship Application: Submit both degree program and scholarship applications before the degree program’s deadline.

4. Late Degree Program Application: If the degree program deadline has passed, applications will not be accepted for the current cycle.

5. Fee Waiver for Degree Program Application: Refer to each school’s admissions page for fee waiver information. Contact the admissions office for assistance.

6. Dual Degrees Eligibility: Dual degrees are not eligible for this scholarship.
