Position: Assistant Programme Specialist (Educational Planning)
Location: Paris
Contract: 1 year, Non-Staff

Job Overview:

UNESCO’s International Institute for Educational Planning (IIEP) is seeking an Assistant Programme Specialist to support educational policy, planning, and management initiatives. Located in the Training and Education Programme Unit in Paris, the successful candidate will work under the supervision of the Global Training Lead and the core training programme coordinator.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Facilitate the Foundations of Education Sector Planning Programme:
    • Merge programme modules to create new courses.
    • Implement self-paced introductory courses and the IIEP credit system.
    • Support training teams with learning materials and participant guidelines.
    • Organize and support webinars and live sessions, including grading and feedback.
  2. Support the IIEP Global Training Strategy (GTS):
    • Monitor and evaluate training participants’ performance and feedback.
    • Assist in project management tasks including calendar follow-ups and meeting organization.
    • Prepare annual reports and support the GTS Advisory Group.
  3. Assist in Specialized Courses:
    • Draft and update learning materials for courses on Learning Assessment Data and Education Management Information Systems.
    • Facilitate online courses, including grading and providing feedback.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in education, social sciences, international relations, or related areas.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience in educational planning.
    • Experience in developing and implementing training programs.
    • Proficiency in project management and training data analysis.
  • Skills & Competencies:
    • Strong analytical skills and knowledge of global education issues.
    • Proficient in training tools and technologies (Moodle, Teams, Zoom, Mentimeter).
    • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
    • Strong interpersonal skills within a multicultural environment.
    • Ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Languages: Excellent knowledge of English or French, with good knowledge of the other language.
