Apply to become a Summer 2024 Google Public Policy Fellow (Fully Funded)

The U.S. Google Public Policy Fellowship offers a unique opportunity for students passionate about internet and technology policy to make a tangible impact. This year-round fellowship program provides accepted fellows with the chance to work at leading public interest organizations, actively contributing to crucial debates on tech policy issues.

Fellowship Details

• Duration: Accepted fellows will spend a semester working at a public interest organization.
• Mentorship: Fellows will be assigned a lead mentor at their host organization and will collaborate with senior staff members throughout the semester.
• Contribution: Fellows will make substantive contributions to their organization’s work, including policy research, drafting reports, attending meetings and conferences, and engaging in advocacy activities.
• Opportunities: Fellows will explore future academic and professional interests while contributing to the public dialogue on tech policy issues.
• Funding: Host organizations will provide a stipend of $12,000 USD for each full-time fellow (40 hours/week), and a stipend of $6,000 USD for each part-time fellow (20 hours/week).

Application Process

• The application consists of seven sections covering personal information, education, references, resume, organization preferences, personal statement, and submission.
• Once started, you can navigate through the sections but ensure to submit all required materials at once.
• Unfortunately, lost work cannot be recovered, so we recommend preparing all materials before starting the application.

Eligibility Criteria

• Applicants must be students enrolled or accepted into accredited institutions, including colleges, universities, master’s, and PhD programs, by August 30, 2024.
• You must be eligible and authorized to work in the country of your fellowship.
