Organizational Setting and Reporting Relationship

The position of (Senior) Gender Specialist (Private Sector) is assigned to the Gender Equality Division (CCGE) within the Climate Change and Sustainable Development Department (CCSD). You will be based at our Headquarters in Manila, Philippines, reporting to the Director, Gender Equality, and will oversee national and administrative staff.

Your Role

As a (Senior) Gender Specialist (Private Sector), you will:

Gender Mainstreaming in Project Preparation and Administration

  • Review project concept papers to identify potential for gender mainstreaming designs.
  • Provide technical advice to borrowers/clients on integrating gender designs in projects.
  • Support project deal teams in monitoring projects and implementing project Gender Action Plans (GAPs).
  • Contribute to assessments of gender results and prepare inputs for project completion reports.
  • Manage gender-related technical assistance projects.

Organizational Policy and Systems

  • Review ADB-wide policy and strategy documents, ensuring quality and consistency from a gender perspective.
  • Document and submit success stories and lessons learned for various ADB reports.
  • Represent the CCGE private sector gender equality team in corporate discussions.

Partnerships, Knowledge, and Capacity Building

  • Develop knowledge resources such as tip-sheets, case-studies, and blogs focused on gender lens investing.
  • Support knowledge dissemination, capacity-building activities, and strategic partnerships.
  • Collaborate with women’s organizations, development partners, and private sector stakeholders.

Staff Supervision

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to national and administrative staff.
  • Supervise the performance, ongoing learning, and development of reporting staff.
  • Undertake any other tasks assigned by the Director, Gender Equality Division.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in social science, economics, development finance, or related fields with a focus on gender and development issues.
  • At least 10 years of work experience in gender and development, including experience in private sector development finance.
  • Expertise in developing gender lens investing tools and engaging with private sector stakeholders.
  • International experience working in several countries, preferably with a multilateral development bank.
  • Excellent written and verbal proficiency in English.
