Overview
The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) is offering a unique opportunity for students to participate in its Summer Internship Program from June 3, 2024, to August 30, 2024. This program, administered by the Office of Human Capitol and Talent Management (HCTM), is designed to provide interns with substantive work assignments, offering exposure to the benefits of a Federal career.
Eligibility
This internship opportunity is open to current students enrolled in accredited educational institutions, from high school to graduate level. All U.S. citizens who are accepted for enrollment or are currently enrolled and seeking a degree in a qualifying educational institution on a full or half-time basis are encouraged to apply.
To maintain eligibility, applicants must remain enrolled in the degree program for the duration of the internship and maintain good academic standing (at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA for undergraduate programs and a 3.0 GPA for graduate programs, on a 4.0 grading scale).
Duties and Responsibilities
Interns participating in the program can expect a variety of engaging responsibilities, including research projects, writing program memoranda, facilitating meetings or special events, performing analytical work, attending program discussions, and communicating on USAID program issues. Assignments may be administrative in nature, contributing to a well-rounded learning experience.
Qualifications and Requirements
To be eligible for the internship, candidates must meet the following conditions:
- United States Citizenship is required.
- Enrolled in a qualifying academic program.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered with the Selective Service.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 for undergraduate and graduate programs.
- Must sign a Pathways agreement if selected.
Qualification levels (GS-4 to GS-7) are determined based on the level of education, with specific criteria outlined in the job listing. Additionally, proof of enrollment for the current or upcoming semester is required.

Benefits
