About the Salzburg Global Center for Education Transformation

The Salzburg Global Center for Education Transformation is dedicated to developing new approaches to critical and emerging issues in education. Our focus areas include:

Writing Residency Overview

Since 2023, the Center has offered three annual writing residencies to support the development and dissemination of innovative thinking in education transformation. Our serene environment at Schloss Leopoldskron offers a unique setting for global participants to work away from everyday restrictions and pressures, fostering creativity and the development of new ideas.

What the Residency Offers

  • Residential Stay: Up to three weeks at Schloss Leopoldskron, including meals.
  • Travel: Covered travel expenses to and from Salzburg.
  • Facilities: Access to all facilities at Schloss Leopoldskron.
  • Program Participation: Potential involvement in ongoing Salzburg Global Seminar programs during the residency.
  • Networking: Connections with thought leaders, the local community, and the wider Salzburg Global Fellowship.
  • Communication Opportunities: Platforms to disseminate your work.
  • Collaboration: Potential to collaborate with other Salzburg Global Programs and Fellows.

Our Expectations

  • Acknowledgment: Recognize Salzburg Global Seminar’s support in your work.
  • Article Submission: Provide at least one 600-to-800-word article for the Transforming Education Channel, hosted with Diplomatic Courier.

Selection Criteria

Applications will be reviewed based on:

  • Project Purpose and Scope
  • Alignment: Must align with Salzburg Global Seminar’s mission and at least one of the six focal areas of the Center for Education Transformation.

Application Process

Candidates interested in the residency can submit their application through the provided form. The deadline for applications is October 1, 2024, at 17:00 CET. Applicants will be notified of the results by November 1, 2024.

  2. Your Writing: Details about your planned writing project and its connection to our work.
  3. Professional Experience and Supporting Documents: Information about your professional background and previous publications (if applicable).
