About the Fellowship:

The Pulitzer Center’s AI Accountability Fellowship aims to support investigative reporting projects that explore the impacts, ethical concerns, and regulatory issues surrounding AI systems. The Center is seeking to recruit eight to ten journalists, especially from underrepresented communities, to report on the effects of algorithmic and automated systems in their regions. Projects focusing on transparency, governance, and financial accountability in relation to AI are particularly encouraged.

The GCM Youth Consultations aim to empower grassroots youth and youth-led organizations to take action in accordance with GCM objectives. This initiative seeks to influence GCM and other relevant policy processes by showcasing youth-led creativity, policy solutions, and capabilities.

Key Objectives

The GCM Workstream is a fundamental component of MYCP’s mission and will gain increased significance as we approach the 2026 International Migration Review Forum (IMRF). This project is a unique opportunity to mobilize young people and shape the future of GCM processes.

Operating globally, this project strives to provide young people and grassroots communities with a voice in global decision-making, involving them directly in shaping their future. We are seeking passionate, talented, and dedicated young individuals to help make this vision a reality.

The GCM Youth Consultations are part of a larger initiative focused on delivering GCM objectives, exploring alternatives to detention, and promoting the learning and development of advocates and young migrants.

About the Human Rights Foundation:

The Human Rights Foundation (HRF) is a nonpartisan nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting and protecting human rights globally, with a focus on closed societies. HRF is one of the few international organizations that exclusively targets human rights issues in authoritarian regimes, focusing on over 90 countries where citizens are denied meaningful electoral competition, basic political freedoms, and judicial independence.

About the Position:

As a Tyranny Tracker Fellow, you will support HRF’s Tyranny Tracker Research project, which monitors and analyzes political repression worldwide. This project aligns closely with HRF’s mission of promoting human rights in closed societies. You will be involved in managing the research project, drafting internal research memos, conducting research, and handling project management tasks such as setting goals and managing deadlines.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills (strongly preferred)
  • Knowledge of political science, international relations, international or comparative law (strongly preferred)
  • Familiarity with qualitative social science research methods and literature on authoritarianism and democratization (strongly preferred)

The first round focuses on sustainable proteins, power grid optimization, and biodiversity conservation, with additional wildcard solutions welcomed.

An Urgent Need Climate change and threats to nature are pressing global issues. AI is already being used to monitor greenhouse gas emissions and advance clean energy, but more must be done, and faster. This initiative aims to amplify these efforts by bridging the gap between AI technology and frontline environmental organizations.

A World-Changing Opportunity This initiative encourages partnerships between climate, nature, and AI experts. By providing targeted funding, mentorship, and resources, the Grand Challenge seeks to stimulate innovation and develop scalable solutions.

Focus Areas

  • Sustainable Proteins: Developing AI-driven meat alternatives.
  • Power Grid Optimization: Enhancing grid resilience and integrating renewable energy.
  • Biodiversity Conservation: Using AI to protect species and habitats.
